The application for the criminal complaint alleged that the defendant was involved with an ongoing dispute with a young woman. While the defendant was at a nightclub in Boston, the application for the criminal complaint alleged that the defendant grabbed the victim by her throat, and verbally threatened the victim’s life.
Therefore, the defendant was required to attend a clerk’s hearing at Boston Municipal Court so that a clerk magistrate could determine whether probable cause existed to issue the criminal complaint for Assault and Battery.
